What is Social Media?

"On social media ... " a phrase you will have heard used by news presenters as if social media is a thing.             It's not a thing.

It's not Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, nor this or that platform. It's everything.

It's all the things, you might not consider social media to be: WhatsApp messages, texts, emails, forum and blog posts etc.

Social media is any (digital) communication, with or without attached media; photos, videos, documents.
