Google Places: Page Updates and Review Replies

The quick mention about creating offers, posting live updates and responding to customer reviews in this video struck me as something that could become a big deal if done right. Although I probably spend more time looking at place pages than most I had never yet seen an update or a review response.

So while I was on a course at GFU Cyrus AG, who have claimed their page, I asked if I could take a peek at the process.

The whole admin area is more geared to providing the user with tracking data and the "share an update" box is easy to miss. There's a 160 character limit and it wasn't exactly clear where the update would appear on the place page.  Only one update will show, if you write another it'll replace the previous one, if you don't the update will disappear in 30 days.

Changes to Facebook pages - for Administrators

Lot's of you will have received the email letting you know that there are some changes to Facebook pages coming.
I thought I'd check them out and give some quick feedback.

Some of the changes are great, some will be useful depending on the number of pages you administer, and there is one major red flag that went up when I read and walked through the changes which I hope I'm wrong about.
