Friend Connect and Google sites

I see allot of people asking how to integrate Friend Connect into Google sites.

There is an assumption that because they are both from Google that they should automatically work together and then there's lots of hair pulling and frayed nerves when they don't.

So just to let you know .....

Friend Connect won't work on Google Sites.

How old is Twitter?

The content search deals that Twitter as made with the search giants are great news, both for Twitter and it's users.
That twitter is quoted here as being a: "three-year-old" startup though seems wrong to me, especially as on page two of the buinessweek.com article they state that: ".. Twitter was formed in 2006 ...".
I'd really like to pin down exactly when twitter first went live.
Not when it was officially launched: but when it first went live.

Facebook Scams

My typing isn't great and when I'm in a rush I sometimes make mistakes when entering a URL into the address bar (yes I still do that!).

These occasional boobs have shown up two Facebook scam sites recently.
Sites set up only to catch and abuse the traffic which falls on or two keystrokes away from the Facebook domain.

Facebook: less outbound traffic

Full URLs (e.g. http://www.yourlink.com) in Facebook photo album descriptions (example) no longer work.

They do (currently), still resolve on the "photos" page (example).

For Facebook page admins it's (another) example of how Facebook, because of it's bussiness model, moves to curb "social leakage".

Deeper Twitter integration with Friend Connect

Previously people joining a Friend Connect enabled site could use their Twitter profile but Twitter wasn't a login or join option.
Now people can actually join using their Twitter details.

The latest update goes much deeper than that though: inviting people through the twitter network and publishing comments to twitter from a friend connect site are options too!
