I was "interested" to see Mashable playing around with user interests on Mashable.com.

Not sure though that they (or users) know that the questions you ask your users are displayed on their profile on site.
Are all those people happy to know that you have indicated that your household income is $100,000+?

Google Friend Connect notifications

There have been a couple of new Friend Connect roll outs lately.

There have always been user notifications in the member gadget, but it looks like the system has been beefed up to a communicate more directly with admin users too.
Here I'm asked to check out users "interests" with link straight to the administration area.

Friend Connect Critical Mass

Very pleased with the "News" that Friend Connect plugins are now available for Drupal and Joomla, two of the most popular open source content management systems around.


What is really significant isn't the announcement.
There has been a Drupal plugin for ages ( though I'm sure this one's been tweeked ), and it's always been possible to use it in Joomla: (I wouldn't call myself technically adept but) I've had Friend Connect on a Joomla site for over a year.
