Cover your back! what about security?

Google recently announced the offline Gmail which it seems the masses have been waiting for.......

But... does I haven't seen or heard anyone mentioning the security implications of this?

First, do you still have to login? Probably, not to would be madness.
What about exposing all your mail to the threats that your computher harbours? Presumably on multiple machines?
I'm sure Google have thought about the security aspect, but they will be able to say (fairly) that you are responsible for the security of your computer!

Remember the average computer user, (not you obviously), is a fecking idiot!!!
